Why Longevity Matters in Your Garden

A beautiful garden is a slow-motion success story. It involves patience and a general appreciation of the natural imperfections that occur within your outdoor space as it establishes itself.

It is important to understand that a new planting scheme will develop gradually over its first five years. During this time, irrigation is absolutely vital for new plants—particularly in the first couple of years.

Proper watering has become even more critical now due to our changing weather patterns. Whether we experience unusually dry summers or intensely wet springs, the main theme of change is that whatever weather we get tends to hang around for a persistent four-to-six-week period. Adopting an active maintenance plan is the best way to counteract this, helping you achieve much better results and stronger, healthier plants.

Having worked for over three decades in this industry, I have seen firsthand how the climate has been changing. It has presented everyone in land-based industries with a series of entirely new difficulties.

Because of these shifting trends, traditional gardening practices are having to be constantly adapted to cope with the continual changes in our weather patterns. Designing for longevity isn't just about how a garden looks today; it is about building resilience for the future.
